About the event
A monoprint is an individual, one-of-a-kind print that can be made from many types of plates including metal, wood, cardboard, plexiglass, or other nontraditional surfaces). Monoprints are known as the most painterly method among the printmaking techniques; it is essentially a printed painting,with no two prints alike.
Hope Taylor, teaching artist staff member at Flower City Arts Center, will demonstrate some monoprint techniques and tell us about other printmaking options at Flower City Arts Center.

About Hope Taylor
Hope Taylor is a multidisciplinary teaching artist from Clayton, NY who is currently based in the Western NY region. They earned an MFA at the Visual Studies Workshop in 2012 and have over 15 years of teaching experience in visual arts for all ages. Their work often incorporates a variety of processes including; drawing, printmaking, sewing, photography, painting, video, sculpture, collage, natural dyes…
